Welcome to my rough travel guide for Toscolano-Maderno! Have you ever traveled to Toscolano-Maderno? I just returned from this wonderful town in the Italian province of Brescia, in Lombardy, Italy.
Located right on the beautiful Toscolano Riva delta, this gorgeous sunny city of Toscolano-Maderno occupies a very important historical and economic spot of the Rivera dei Limoni e dei Castelli.
In fact, there are 2 cities: Toscolano and Maderno, which have their roots back to the Ancient Roman time, nowadays housing all kind of stores, hotels, restaurants and businesses.
What is really interesting is that here, in Toscolano-Maderno were founded Italy’s first paper mills, an essential impact that made this area flourishing. In the Valle delle Cartiere (The Paper Mill Valley), you’ll see some of the remains of the ancient paper mills, turned now into a museum. The entrance is free, so make it happen, you will not regret.
Both Toscolano and Maderno have some of the most interesting artistic buildings, especially their spectacular ancient churches, some of the most beautiful in Northern Italy, such as the Parish Church of Santi Pietro e Paolo, dating back to the 16th century, built in the Renaissance style, housing an impressive collection of paintings bearing the signature of the Italian painter Andrea Celesti. Another example is the unique masterpiece of Sant'Andrea Church (12th century), located in the district of Maderno.
Toscolano Maderno boasts with the most beautiful belvedere over the Toscolano River delta, offering the possibility of practicing various leisure activities, such as trekking, horseback riding, hiking or golfing. >>> Bogliaco Golf Course – the oldest golf course on Lake Garda.
