Yellowstone National Park, USA
It is believed that Yellowstone National Park is the first national park of the world, founded in 1872, and one of the largest in the world, with an area of approximately 9,000 km ², stretching across three states: Wyoming (mostly, about 93% of the park), southwestern Montana (3%) and southeastern Idaho (1%). The most amazing attractions are the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, Hot Springs of mammoths (Mammoth Hot Springs), geysers and Yellowstone Lake, being the ideal habitat of bison, grizzly bears, coyotes and wolves. Which is extremely fascinating is that in Yellowstone Park there are over 500 geysers, representing the largest concentration of geysers in the world. Most of them are located in the following basins: Upper, Midway, Lower, Norris, West Thumb, Shoshone and Heart Lake.
Etosha National Park, Namibia
Etosha National Park is located in north-western Kunene Region of Namibia. The name of Etosha means ‘the big white spot’, and is one of the most beautiful and most important reserves in southern Africa. The main attraction of the area is ‘Etosha Pan’, a formation with the appearance of a pan, resulted from the water evaporation from of the lake once fueled by Kunene River. Here is a large variety of creatures, such as birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, and surprisingly only one species of fish.
Yosemite National Park, California
Yosemite National Park, located in California, is part of UNESCO World Heritage and it’s known for its spectacular waterfalls, like Vernal Falls, of 97 meters, and Horsetail Falls, which are the delight of the park, in addition to its diverse wildlife, various species of insects, ancient giant sequoia, the Half Dome and other beauty of the park, spread over an area about1,200 square kilometers.
Fjordland National Park, New Zealand
Fiordland National Park is the largest park in New Zealand and also the most beautiful, because of its location, including a large part of Fiord land and the mountainous aria, in the southwest corner of the South Island, and to the east an area with wonderful lakes. Mountains of the park reaches an altitude of 2746 m above sea level and are dressed with lush rainforest and vegetation, and creatures such as penguins, seals and a large number of seabirds.
Plitvice National Park, Croatia
Having a network of 16 lakes, whose water seems to constantly change their color due to minerals, connected with waterfalls of various sizes (the tallest waterfall is Veliki Slap, 70 meters high), and lush vegetation, Plitvice Lakes, are a rare beauty, overwhelming. The crystalline turquoise waters of Plitvice National Park are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia. This lake is just 2 hours drive from Zagreb, and is a paradise all year round: in summer it is full of vegetation and turquoise waters, and in winter, the frozen waterfalls provide breathtaking scenery.
