Kolmanskop is a ghost town in southern Namibia, a few kilometers from the port of Luderitz. In 1908 Luderitz was filled by diamond fever and people rushed to migrate to the Namibian desert in hopes that they will enrich. In two years, a complete town with school, hospital, casino and exclusive residential buildings was built in the desert. After the First World War, diamond sales fell. It was the beginning of the end. In the 50's the town was deserted and the dunes began to recover what was always theirs.
100 years ago, the streets roaring Kolmanskop and people went in search of diamonds, attracted by the chance of a rapid enrichment. However, 50 years ago, the last inhabitants left the city. Today, the city is visited annually by thousands of tourists because of the stories that haunt the streets and empty buildings.
