Lisbon, capital of Portugal, my number 1 destination... always fascinated me because it has that hint of small and warm place and because it is a small town, where you can walk away without using public transport. Among the places not to be missed I include Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Saint George Castle and Museu Calouste Gulbenkian. I will not miss the Lisbon Oceanarium, roasted chestnuts, a tram ride or walk into a bar where they sing fado music or a walk through Bairro Alto, which is the ideal place for an afternoon of walking and shopping or a visit at Monsanto National Park, which is one of the largest urban parks in the world.
Prague, a city on the banks of the River Vltava in central Bohemia, is extremely nice, being the capital of the Czech Republic, is a cultural center where they were born and have lived a multitude of artists, writers, poets, athletes, filmmakers. The impressive beauty of this green paradise, with old streets, cobbled with cubic stones…the Stromovka Park and funicular which takes to the top of the Petrin hill, where the view is amazing, with a very good transport system and good prices, great cafes and restaurants, delicious food... all of them makes me eager to visit Praga. Then, I will visit Prague Castle, known as the largest medieval complex in the world, which hosts inside the St. Vitus Cathedral, the largest and also the most important cathedral in the Czech Republic or the beautiful Charles Bridge with its gorgeous medieval architecture, surrounded by three towers and decorated with a continuous alley of 30 statues, made in Baroque style. Then I'll walk the streets of the old city, which includes the Old Synagogue (the oldest in Europe), but also the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock, a symbol of the city. The next incursion is in the New Town, Wenceslas Square - an emblem for residents and a major business and cultural center. I will definitely not miss the Wax Museum or the National Museum, from whose terrace I will admire and photograph the panorama of Wenceslas Square market.
On my ‘’what to visit list’’, the 3nd is: Paris. I always want to see it and do more and more pictures, but when I had the chance, I could do this just for two days, which would not be enough to visit all that the handsome Paris offers. Now, I changed my mind, somehow, and even I will go for 2 or 3 days, I will visit as much as I can, especially: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Sacre Coeur, Les Champs Elysees, Le Palais Garnier, La Conciergerie and Le Chateau de Versailles. Furthermore, I hope to get to Disneyland Paris, too and to have the time to walk along the Seine.
The 4rd destination is: Athens, the capital of Greece, because it is full of history, culture, but also full of modernism, Byzantine monuments , one of the best museums in the world and surprisingly natural beauties, cafes, taverns, markets and in the maze of streets around the old town, Plaka. I will visit Lycavettos Hill that will show me Athens in its entire splendor, the National Garden of Athens, a rare beauty, in the center of Athens, the National Archaeological Museum, The Parliament - one of the great buildings of Athens, where I hope to catch the changing of the guard and the fascinating Parnitha National Park. Of course I will see the Acropolis, where I'll spend a few hours to admire the Parthenon, the Temple of Zeus and Temple of Hephaestus.
