I came in one afternoon and we decided to walk through the center to take the pulse of the city as they say . I went to Rialto Towers and we climbed to the top to admire the city from above. The ticket allowed us to return and evening to admire the city and night lights.Yes , Melbourne is beautiful viewed from above .

The next morning we went to the zoo and then we walked through the botanical garden and other gardens adjacent, forming a huge park. High heat and merciless sun prevented us to enjoy leisurely offer all their gardens .

We then walked on the south bank of the river, we stopped at one of the restaurants there and beautiful views over the river .

All our walking in the streets, we found numerous artworks ba sidewalk near a traffic light in the courtyard of a building , at the entrance of a building, and we liked this.
I discovered alleys and cafes set in galleries or on the street , and we enjoyed each time a pleasant atmosphere , plus good coffee . And also cakes.

We visited:

  • Portsea and Sorrento in Mornington Peninsula (including Arthur's Seat)
  • Dandenong Ranges - Olinda, Sherbrooke, observer
Healesville Maroondah Reservoir & including road with excellent views
Wilson's Promontory - it seems far away from the most beautiful place ever seen from coming in Au. We booked three days in Yanakie of Australia Day, I can not wait to go back there.
If you will allow a longer walk, you can go on the Great Ocean Rd in Cape Otway National Park to see dozens / hundreds of koalas in the wild, a few meters from the road, perched in trees and that bums bothered us the tourists' cameras.
  • The best thing is to get on top of the Rialto building and see the city from above. You'll notice that Melbourne has a highly ordered City imposes on its tall buildings. Besides it meanders lazily Yarra River, small boats often furrowed cruise or the evening, a few kayaks. Not far away is Crown Complex, which houses the largest casino in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • If you want to shop, the best place in Melbourne's Victoria Market. There you will find absolutely everything from food and vegetables stuffed kangaroo, magnets and other souvenirs of all kinds at affordable prices.

We were in Melbourne for Christmas vacation. I spent 6 days there and the overall impression was favorable .I think we will go there when we have the opportunity, it's a nice city .
